Now!
We are currently on the first day of the Portuguese Camino. At the Pilgrim’s office in Lisbon, they indicated that there was a gate now in between Vila Franca de Xira and Azambuja (2nd stage). Has anyone experienced this?

One spot left (female, shared room) on the Catalina Island hike. Sign up by Sept 17
Gronze says this (English translation by Google): You leave Vila Franca by crossing the overpass over the train station platforms . Continue to the left through the park to the exit gate. Continue along a street parallel to the river.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Thank you! We are with a woman being pushed in a wheelchair. So, please let us know if you see something else on the forums.

Hello @CaminoPals22. While I am not exactly sure where this gate is, after having just documented this route this spring it seems to me that it is just after the town of Vila Nova da Rainha. You walk through town, then up and over the train tracks (for the third time - but don't worry, there are elevators for the w/c). It is on the other side of the tracks where the gate is - at least this one that I have documented. Here is a photo of the gate! Looks like you can get a w/c through it with a little bit of manipulation!

Have a marvelous Camino!

We didn’t end up having an issue with the gate. The wheelchair fit through. BUT we did have issues getting over the train tracks because at 2 stations in a row the elevator did not work. So-we walked along the busy road. Thank you for your responses.
