Sheepish reply…sorry, was carried away.@Canada Wanders : wonderful pictures and thanks for sharing.
The original idea of this thread ( see first post) is to add one picture daily ( or the odd two in one post if they are sequels) . We do not want this thread to end too quickly.
Sheepish reply…sorry, was carried away.
It happens to us all. Relax, we're a tolerant lot on this thread.Sheepish reply…sorry, was carried away.
It is an amazing font of joy.Still going strong after two years!
Sorry to say it closed some years before 2020... and yes, it was a welcome spot.Between Zubiri and Trinidad de Arre. Breakfast at the welcoming and lively garden cafe, El Horno de Irotz. September 8, 2012.

So very happy to hear that you're on your way!!! Wishing you safe joyous travels VN! I look forward to any posts you might send our way!Today I am traveling. So again I post from my phone, leaning on the media here on the forum already.
Your photo reminds me that I'm looking forward to seeing the vibrant colors of France, Spain, and possibly Portugal in late spring rather than the hues of browns/tans I'm used to seeing in the fall months.CF April 19, 2016 on the way to Puente la Reina.

Rocks stacks at the edge of the Rio Arga near the bridge.
Knowing this forum, if I posted this innocuous photo in a non-photo thread, there would be gnashing of teeth, ripping of clothes, and several argumentative "my opinion is more important than yours" posts until the thread would eventually be locked.

Me being a Taurus, I do love the earth tones of Fall as well. Yes, the Spring sure is vibrant in color and a nice change. So green with a lot of yellow as you can see.Your photo reminds me that I'm looking forward to seeing the vibrant colors of France, Spain, and possibly Portugal in late spring rather than the hues of browns/tans I'm used to seeing in the fall months.

Which is why this thread is my main "hangout" on the forum.Phoenix,
At least in this thread what matters is the picture and any associated story....
Me too! I ditched FaceBook for this forum. and to include @SabineP Taurus rules!! ️ Hope you feel better soon.Which is why this thread is my main "hangout" on the forum.

This photo is essentially the image my mind conjures whenever I think of Pamplona.

Combined, we might give google street view a run for its money...I was looking the other way! CF May 2016.View attachment 122021
Wow, Look at that bridge. Amazing.Crossing the beautiful medieval Ponte Sobreira and then navigating the street through the abandoned hamlet on the other side. In the photo, my friend Helen looked back as she saw what was around the bend - a completely flooded street - we had a bit of wading to do! I loved every minute of this first day on the Sanabrés between Ourense and Cea. April 25, 2018

Do you prefer halibut or salmon or I mean … you seem to be a Salomon man. Nice collection sporting great memories, no doubt.View attachment 122087
Camino-related... the boots and packs that have served me well over the course of many miles and places around the world.

Thx. There a few Scarpa in the collection, too, but that was before my feet decided to start growing again around the time I hit the half-century mark.Do you prefer halibut or salmon or I mean … you seem to be a Salomon man. Nice collection sporting great memories, no doubt.
Phoenix,
Thanks. The next visit to Porto, I hope to stay in the hostel attached to the train station so I can admire it in a more relaxed setting.Phoenix,
Your photo is a great shot of those splendid tiles. For more info re São Bento see this earlier thread.
FourSeasons, Indeed your photo is beautiful; the path looks shaded and cool. I love that tiny yellow arrow on the white birch trunk amidst all the green vegetation.Camino del Norte, July 5, 2019: Out of Irun the first day, so beautiful.

The arrow really pops amongst the green however it was anything but cool. Perhaps during the time you're accustomed to walking (winter) but not in July, hot and humid was the way. Any slight ocean breeze was a God send. Still so very beautiful.FourSeasons, Indeed your photo is beautiful; the path looks shaded and cool. Beautiful on which Camino is this?
Aviles is on the Camino del Norte, after Gijon.

A repost and one of my favorite photos of any Camino. It has special meaning as it was displayed in the church as I gave the eulogy for my dad 6 months ago (he loved being out on the water).
It’s also fitting as it is the last photo I am posting. After 8+ years, I’ve had my fill of the forum (these photo threads and you guys are the exception). I’ve grown weary of the “forum pilgrims” who seem to dominate: the condescending know-it-alls, the humble braggarts, the whiners/complainers, and those who seem to enjoy abusing new posters asking simple questions. I can honestly say I’ve not met any of their like out in the wild (on Camino), and hope to not cross paths with any of them in person.
@mspath - you are the epitome of a pilgrim and a good person, wise and kind beyond measure.
@FourSeasons - your positive attitude is always contagious.
@VNwalking - thank you for creating these threads, which enabled me to hang around for as long as I did.
The rest of the regular photo/story posters - thank you for sharing your Camino(s) with the rest of us.
Be well.
What a lovely photo, I see an eagle, perhaps a dove in the clouds? What a beautiful scene to have at your father's funeral. I'm so sorry for your loss.View attachment 122445

All who have walked a long day can empathize with this weary pilgrim who years past in the Logroño municipal albergue sat by the main interior staircase.
Sad that this is your last photo, it is beautiful and very meaningful. We wish you all the very best. Thank you for all your contributions.View attachment 122445
