Time of past OR future Camino

So I’ve been doing alot of research on the VDLP. A long long walk :) My friends friend finished the VDLP on March 28 of this year and stayed about 12 kms from Santiago. Is that a good distance or would a little farther still get you in at a good time. I’ll have a couple days there so it probably would be ok. Thoughts?

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Even my elderly mother can walk 12 kms in a few days, so there should be no problem. And no one in Santiago will be clocking your time at an imaginary finish line like they do at a marathon.

On the days that I’ve arrived into Santiago, I liked making it a relatively short walking day so as to 1) easily make it to the morning Pilgrim’s Mass, and 2) have plenty of time to take care of any business (i.e., visiting the Pilgrim’s Office, checking into accommodations, etc.) before just relaxing and enjoying the city. Enjoy your couple days there!

That’s a great idea @Raindrop
There is a wonderful place / albergue Reina Lupa which is approximately 12klm from Santiago. Friendly owners too - they also have the bar next door where you can get meals or drinks etc.
The link to Gronze is here

Like you said ., being closer, you wont then have an exhausting final day coming into Santiago and you’ll have time to relax and get yourself sorted.

Buen camino

Quality Albergue. I stayed there at the back end of last year. Nice walk in to SDC from there.

I am looking at starting the VDLP the 1st week of March 2025. My plan is to start in Sevilla and walk to Astorga then back track and pick up the Sanabres to Santiago. I've got my gear weight down...
I hadn't realised there are thermal baths in Ourense. Looks like a few different ones. Are they worth a visit? Also, do you need to bring your own swimsuit? I carted swimming trunks all the way...
Having had the wonderful guidance from Nely on the Camino Mozarabe from Almeria, last year, I was wondering is there a similar Camino Angel in Seville for the Via de la Pláta?
Good evening Can anyone tell me if albergues are open into November on the via de la Plata and onto the Frances , I will be starting in Seville on October the 3rd, will I run into problems...
Last winter I did the last 100KM of the Portugues between Christmas and New Year's. I enjoyed it a lot -- Spain definitely does this time of year right, and spending New Year's Eve in Santiago...
