Will the Correos accept a small backpack or bag

I've sent a small suitcase. I did need to lock it. If you decide to put it in a box they have them for purchase at the Correos office.

The Correos can provide a suitable corrugated box for a nominal fee. They comne in a wide variety of sizes.
That is how I do it. And I have done so MANY times.
If you are shipping a suitcase or duffel bag, they will strap it closed with their plastic shipping tape to prevent zips from coming undone, or straps catching in their machinery. I have done this, from Ponferrada to Santiago. It works great.
