- Time of past OR future Camino
- First one in 2005 from Moissac, France.
Hi all - will be going off to Camino beginning of April .. sorting gear (yes, already - as if I don't already have it!).
Now, I am not a fan of "hiking uniforms", gear with expensive designer labels and am thinking of changing my clothing from my usual cheap cargo shorts and shirts to a short sleeved boiler suit .... long legs, but we are supposed to cover them now anyway.
It can't be just me that doesn't like being strapped in to a pair of shorts with underpants beneath? Belt cinching tight to stop them dropping down, hot and sweaty, and so on - did try a kilt once and that was lovely under there but lacked pockets ... and! the legs are not flappy loose but loose enough to roll up to knee height - great for under a cape in the rain.
So, a lightweight hot weather boiler suit - can wear naked under except for underpants or layer under as needed .. lovely and loose and cool around the groin area so fab for males and females, full zip, pockets, what's not to like?
Oh - males .. they have a long zip that ends very low indeed so much easier for when we get the liquid nature call.
Light, easy to wash and dries quickly - I could take two, one off one on ...
but is it heresy? will I be fashion shamed? - will people expect me to fix their broken down car or sort their plumbing as I pass?
or am I starting a trend???
This sort of thing (I could unpick the Dickies label). Brown for me, obviously.
