**54 days down and almost 700 miles behind me**
Yesterday I took a scheduled and much needed day off in Vercelli. Did laundry, ate and relaxed.
This morning I stepped out the door to find clear, hot and humid weather.
While walking I was literally amongst 100's of acres (Hectacres) of mosquito 🦟 infested rice fields.
The standing water within these fields gave a noticeable rise in humidity, causing me to go through 4 liters of water throughout the day
As I entered Mortara I saw a sign which illustrated the temperature to be 36 Celsius (96.8F. Thanks Google).
Now at 2100 as I tap this out on my cell phone it is 34 degrees and raining, which only means tomorrow should be humid as I walk to Garlasco.
Stay tuned.......

Too many and too often!
Are you staying in the church, well attached to it anyway? And is dear Franca still there??
I remember that church well. I tested the acoustics by singing the Lord's Prayer to an Orthodox setting and a Russian pilgrim behind me burst into tears. Never been a very confident singer but I didn't think I was quite that bad! :)

PS: I crossed paths with Tatiana again the next day. In the middle of a conversation she apologised very politely then slapped my face. I was a bit puzzled but it turned out she was removing a vampire insect from my cheek! 🦟

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

@timr - I am not staying at the church, but 30 meters from it at an Air B&B, which has a wonderful air conditioner blasting right now.
Thankfully the words "AirB&B" were literal...you def needed that AIR conditioner! 🥵
