Left this morning early to beat the heat, got a cup of coffee ☕️ and was nursing six mosquito bites.
The initial path out of town lead me down a beautiful tree-lined path, which provided ample shade from the rising sun. (See photo).
Throughout my days walk I went through several small towns which had beautiful artworks hanging in their churches ⛪️.
By noon I reached Garlasco, showered and had a high calorie lunch and an ice cold 🧊 🍺.
Tomorrow I will walk to Pavia and meet with friends for dinner, who live in Milan that I met while walking The Camino Norte in 2018.

Hope you don't add to your collection of bites Bob! 🦟
I'm amazed at the difference between your walking 'conditions' & those I experienced being on the trail just a month earlier. I didn't get a single mozzie bite throughout. I guess less than predictable annual weather patterns a contributing factor (ie rainfall, unseasonal temps, etc).
However I saw a heap of snakes (mostly undead 😥 🙈)...but then again, you still have Tuscany ahead...brace thyself!
Happy trails 🤗
