Hello,

I am going on my first Camino at the end of May. I am flying into Lisbon from San Francisco. arriving late at night. I am looking for lodging near the airport and then for the next night in Porto. Would like to stay near the start of the Camino. Looking for a single room.

Thank you for any suggestions

This past spring, we stayed at the Passenger Hostel in Porto. It’s located right inside the Sao Bento Terminal. Modern, clean, comfortable with a nice breakfast. They offer both private rooms and dorm beds. It’s just a short walk to the cathedral where you can begin your Camino by walking along the Douro River to the coast.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
We are flying into Porto on May 5th at around 1500. Is there a hotel close to the airport one of you have tried and were please with?

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

The Passenger is very popular.
I would respectfully suggest that you book in advance.

Been to Porto 5 times now, staying in airbnb, albergue and hostal and found great places, but also recommended Passenger.

I stayed in a lovely hotel in Matosinhos, perhaps a km from the Caminho. Several other travelers there also. I think Godinho was in the name.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
