      I love my poncho! I have one from Decathlon that has full sleeves with elastic cuffs and a 1/4 zip, no flapping open sides. Easy to pull on and off over my pack and it's about $30 Canadian!

      I think that what @Dani7 meant was other pilgrims on the Camino, and here on the forum. I think at minimum it's best to have a bed reserved for the first place you arrive to, so that this kind of situation can be avoided:
