Is it worth packing a swim suit if walking July/August? Any streams along the way or accommodation with pools?

My friend took a bikini and marked all the albergues with pools along the way, and had a brilliant time swimming and relaxing at Boadilla! The bikini doubled as one of her changes of underwear so it wasn't going unused the rest of the time. There were a few places with pools and some streams that looked tempting but we never really went in them.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Once again, listen to Pieces. She never fails to disappoint.

A dip in the water after a hot summer day is absolutely exhilarating no matter how dressed.

Ahhh....

In May, my teen. daughter & I walked from SJPDP to Logrono in 6-days with a 2-night break in Pamplona. After a week of snoring & farting barns which were generally quite good, but for 1 exception, we stumbled into the AC hotel in Logrono for our last night on the trail. It's a fairly new hotel downtown next to the University. For 57 euros incl. tax., we discovered the place had a SPA...steam room, sauna & lap pool..we couldn't believe our good fortune, spotlessly clean. After being soaked to the skin for 6 days of hail, snow, rain & mud we thought we'd arrived in heaven. Nothing like water therapy & heat to ease the muscles & bones back to life. Like true Peregrinos we swam in our underwear & washed them at the same time ! We're already planning Logrono to Astorga next year. Buen camino !

Thanks for all the replies. Think the answer is to pack a bikini that can double as underwear, as I'm going in the peak of summer.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
I like Pieces idea of bringing black bra and underwear. More comfortable to wear under wear as swim wear then swim wear as under wear. My daughter and I did bring swim wear and once we were done with the camino we used them in hotel pools. If there were any places to swim it would have been too cold when we were there in May.

mBoston - I think we met you and your daughter in Los Arcos. My daughter and I were in the bunks next to you but I gave my daughter the top because she was so sore. You told us about voltarin 3x a day whether needed or not. Maybe you told that to every one though. LOL! Great idea to go for a week at a time, hopefully the weather is better the next time around.

I was told the Hotel Paris in Leon also offers a spa treatment and access to their sauna and pool - all included as part of the hotel stay. If so, this seems a great place to chill out before making the last push to Santiago

One word of caution... A camino friend of ours got very sick after swimming in a pool at an albergue . The water was not clean, but she was desperate for a swim, and regretted it afterwards :(:(
