My friend and I are walking Pamplona to Logroño this next week(we only have a week off). We decided to have our luggage transferred daily since we had to do approximately 60 miles in four days. I decided to take my trekking poles and so had to check my baggage. Unfortunately my bag was not transferred to Spain from Dallas. It may catch up to us in Pamplona but if not I will need to buy new shoes, hat and poles. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Sorry to hear about the mishap.
This shop might be of help.

Or Decathlon City.

Good luck!

I am counting on the fact that you will probably catch the itch to go again. Never check your backpack. Never. If it is 45L or below it will easily fit into an overhead. If you insist on taking your poles then just check the poles. I buy a pair of cheap poles when I arrive. I have since found that the China shops that are everywhere in cities also sell poles. When I get to Santiago I donate my poles to the Pilgrim House.

There is also an El Corte Ingles department store, with a large sporting goods department. IIRC, it is near the train station.

Hope this helps.

We are currently on the Camino and had the opportunity to check out the Caminoteca store listed above. The owners carry an amazingly good selection of all the gear you might need. They had an awesome selection of boot/shoes that are recognized as being good for long days walking. I think they had everything duplicated that was in my pack-even down to the itty bitty toiletries. They’re located near the cathedral. There’s also a nice small lavanderia around the corner.
