Camino Frances
Hi everyone.
I’m doing research on how many Spanish speaking, French speaking and Italian speaking individuals walk the Camino de Santiago.
I’m not simply inquiring about people from their own countries but people that speak their individual languages. Example: People from South and Central America or Mexico would be included in the Spanish speaking sector.
I’ve tried to find these stats but have not had any luck. Any thoughts on where I can find the info I’m looking for?
Many thanks.
Angelo

Hi Angelo,
You could maybe combine stats from the Pilgrim Office in Santiago by country and get a rough ballpark?

Anecdotally, one year in July 1 in 2 weeks we had people from 23 different countries at the busy little donativo albergue in Estella. In smaller albergues on less traveled routes we've had people from 12 countries or more in June or July in a 2 week period.
