Hola! Any advice on the best way to receive the Compostella when reaching Santiago? Will the church stamp your credential?
Gracias! Buen Camino

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The church does not, the Pimgrim's Office does, when you request it. To request you must register first https://oficinadelperegrino.com/en/sigle-register/ online
I generally try and register the day before I arrive, but it is possible to register when you arrive at the Pilgrim Office. If you register online beforehand, you will be sent a code that the Pilgrim Office staff will use to find the personal details you provided, and which will be used to complete your Compostela and distance certificate.

When you arrive at the pilgrim office, you will get another barcode that is your place in the queue. The queue numbers are displayed in various places around the Pilgrim Office, together with advice about when to go and line up in the corridor to wait to be called forward individually to get your Compostela. At this time, it is useful to have that first code handy to give to the person who will take you through the process.

This might sound somewhat impersonal, but it has greatly eased the congestion that use to occur in the Pilgrim Office.

No, once you arrive and take a few photos of the cathedral, continue to the pilgrims office. They'll stamp your credential and give you your Compostela.

You can complete this form now or closer to the time.

Don’t miss the Pilgrim House in Santiago. They too do stamps. Your final stamp and Compostela can be done at the Pilgrim’s Office. Easy to find. Ask anyone when there. Buen Camino! Just completed our 4th. Leaving Santiago now.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
