Boat from Ruta maritima ria de Arousa to Pontecesures on VARIANTE ESPIRITUAL

Join us from Logroño to Burgos in May 2025 or Astorga to OCebreiro in June.
I plan to walk Variante Espiritual around Jan 20th. Does anyone know if the boat still runs during that period of time? I was trying to connect with the boat company "Vilanova de Arousa (https://www.labarcadelperegrino.com/en/book-now-traslatio-route/)" but no response from whatsapp nor website.
It does not.

There’s another company (don’t remember its name) that will run a boat on request but it is too expensive for one person as I recall. 5 people made it feasible and he took down my name and what’s app number and said he’d call two days in advance if he had enough interest (this was for Dec. 28 or 29), but I never heard from him so I’m assuming he didn’t have others to take.

ON EDIT - this is the other boat company: https://www.amareturismonautico.com/en/tour/jubilee-tour-through-the-sea-traslatio/

I took the boat the end of april at 8 o clock in the morning. We had an open boat. It was freezing cold. In january it will be worse I expect. So if you would have the possibility to choose I would opt for a closed boat later in the day. Probably you will be glad with any option this time of year though

Thank you all. I checked and there is no boat companies running during Jan. I'll find another way to walk Variante Espiritual

You can walk from Arouse to Padron of cause, I think it us a marked route, perhaps less special than the boatride

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
The Camino Portugués from Vilanova de Arousa to Padron is 36.7 km, according to my Brierley guide (2022/2023 edition). He says that it is marked haphazardly, with limited and mostly seasonal accommodation along the way.

That was my understanding as well when we walked last winter -- as much as we had wanted to do the variant, because of these logistical issues we decided to take the main route to Padron.

You can take a taxi back to the main CP track and start walking from there.
