Goaes is about the perfect half. Nice stamp.
The Albergue was well indicated. Keys in the restaurants, that you pass in the beginning of the village.
I haven't seen so many beds. I'd rather say, it was only 6, but neither the Porto-Braga variant, nor Camino Torres should have so many pilgrim. There is a kitchen and a bigger supermarket about a km after Goaes (on the way).
If someone is only starting in Braga, the hilly ~20km to Goaes should be enough for a first day. For any other in good shape it might be tempting to walk more, but the next place to sleep could be the golf hotel about 5km to Ponte de Lima (at least I have not noticed more). If you want a shortcut for the 37km it's better to start in Vila de Prado, which has a city bus to Braga and some pensions.
