LIVE from the Camino Tres Cantos -- camino goes past town not into it -- and more, on Camino de Madrid

...but it takes a long time to reach it. In Segovia, the albergue situation is pretty messed up, I'm sorry to say. When I showed up at the Duermevela Hostel, no one answered at the door. Fortunately for me, a lady passing by, a former pilgrim, called their number, and I should be able to get a...

Virtual walk on the Camino de Madrid - Detailed planning

And a vote from me for Duermevela [back in Segovia]. I was particularly impressed by the hand painted, I kid you not, hand painted sello. My diary describes Añe as 'a village dying from inside' but the locals are doing what they can to maintain the albergue, which is spacious if plain. There is...

Virtual walk on the Camino de Madrid - Detailed planning

The aqueduct - wow. Amazing by day! Spectacular by night! Always mesmerising. We stayed at nearby Duermevela Hostel Segovia, a friendly and colourful place - 38 euros for a twin / double room. Loved the ‘Disney’ castle too. Note for thé next stage, we must remember to look back frequently as...

Unfinished Business: my (Interupted) Camino de Madrid

I can't speak for the albergue. I stayed at Duermevela Hostel in Segovia, very close to the aquaduct: friendly hospitaleros, a variety of accommodations and reasonable prices. Unless I were in a hurry, I would stay there again.

LIVE from the Camino Derrybiketours on the Camino de Madrid

Wishing you well in your endeavours, @Derrybiketours. This thread has brought on an extreme attack of nostalgia for the Camino de Madrid, and the Duermevela hostel in Segovia 😊 I'd strongly recommend staying there are making friends with the owners. Good luck and Buen Camino!

    Mataelpino to La Granja

I would suggest Duermevela (means "Sleep well", "Good sleep") hostel/albergue. Just few staircases down from the famous aqueduct. We got double bed this spring. Super friendly and you can't beat the price for this location.

My (leisurely) stages on the Camino de Madrid

Thanks for the tip @cbcrna1. I've had contact with Hostal Duermevela which at 20 euros is probably a decent price. You're walking now right?

LIVE from the Camino A short walk from Madrid

...city with loads to see and do. You may want to eat suckling pig. There's a great street for tapas off Plaza mayor. I stayed in Hostel Duermevela 2 mins from aqueduct, in the 'new town', ie before the aqueduct. Upmarket hippie vibe, which I mean completely as a compliment. Very comfortable...

    Where to stay in Segovia

I stayed at Duermevela a couple of years ago and was very well satisfied. It has a range of accommodation, from small dormitories to double or single rooms. It is well equipped and was scrupulously clean. It's well located a few minutes' walk from the aqueduct, and the owners speak excellent...

    Where to stay in Segovia

I'm looking at the cheaper end of the market ;) I have booked Hostel Duermevela on booking.com. But I haven't been there so I cannot recommend it yet. €18.50. I will be a day or so ahead of you.... Too late to give you a useful recommendation I guess. But I will post how it was. I am flying on...

    Accommodations after the Way

Try Hostal Sol C/Azacanes 8 in Toledo; Duermevela Hostal Calle de los Gascos 7, Segovia; both highly recommended on the Hostalworld website.
