Multipurpose shoes for shower and town?

I also used them. They were perfect for show and around town. I could not have made a better choice.

Multipurpose shoes for shower and town?

I second this. They work really well for my arthritic feet, providing support and comfort. And they're fun, since they come in a very wide variety of colors (and I like to color coordinate tee-shirts and shoes).

Multipurpose shoes for shower and town?

Birkenstock EVA Arizona. I used them last year for both shower and walking around town. Can wear them barefoot or with socks (always a classy look..) they have great arch support. Also super lightweight...

Jerry, Thank you so much for responding. I'm getting some great information from the members.

My first Camino - clothing & footwear when done walking for the day

I have a pair of incredibly lightweight Birkenstock sandals, I think maybe made of EVA foam. Think FEATHER weight. They ride inside the top of my backpack so when arriving at an albergue I can immediately remove my boots and put them on. I wear them to the shower but not in the shower. If...

    Water shoes instead of sandals?

Lightweight, take up no space, can access easily from side pocket of pack, quick dry, very inexpensive, can wear with socks (vs. flip flop or sandals with toe strap). Love them.

    Water shoes instead of sandals?

I was as uncertain as @anamari above. I take it these are neoprene (or similar) slip-ons? No structure or support, but with a grippy sole? I’ve no interest whatsoever in what they look like, but in what respect would you recommend them over (for Eva example) Birkenstock EVA sandles?

    Water shoes instead of sandals?

My "water shoes" for sailing have holes in the sole for draining. So they are totally unsuitable for around town evening wear. Suck a puddle right up into your sock. After carrying Crocs and flip flops I have settled on Birkenstock EVA foam sandals for shower and evening wear. SUPER LIGHT...

Recommendations for Warm and Comfortable Shoes in Town during October

Birkenstock foam sandals? I carry a pair of Birkenstock EVA slides 7.9oz 223g I think crocs are mostly too heavy. I haven't found anything lighter I want to carry. not a lot more than a pair of cheap lightweight flip-flop and more versatile I just weighed my pair of Hoka recovery slides (size...

Recommendations for Warm and Comfortable Shoes in Town during October

I'd recommend the Birkenstock EVA (foam) version (or a similar dupe from Amazon). They're so light, comfortable, and could be worn in the shower or with wool socks on cooler nights around town. Not the most stylish look, but style goes out the window around Roncesvalles. ;)

Alternatives for evening footwear, including autumn/winter

Birkenstocks Eva for showers and warmer evenings. I also took a pair of canvas Croc moccasins for cooler nights and when I wanted to cover my feet up in the evening, which squashed into my pack easily. Hey Dude brand are similar.

Alternatives for evening footwear, including autumn/winter

I just bring Birkenstock EVAs; the plastic lightweight ones, over socks if it’s chilly. For short periods only I’ve been known to put a couple of plastic bags (or disposable shower caps if you frequent hotels where they leave them in the bathroom) over my socks. If I have to venture out in the...

Open to criticism on my pack

maybe better to have a lighterpack list with weight of everything? only one pair of shoes, either Brooks Cascadia 16 or maybe sense ride 4 and usually bring Birkenstock Barbados EVA slides 7.8oz. as a luxury, my 30L pack is still about 9Lbs (since we are using lbs.) I like this line for...

Shoes for wide feet, want to avoid problems with zero drop shoes

Whoa, and I thought my dozen pair of Birkenstocks (mostly Arizonas and Milanos in various colors/materials including EVA and vegan variations) were a lot! Now I have an excuse for expanding my collection even further 🥳

    Socks with sandals

    Me too.

    Socks with sandals

Both Both are options, if you’re content as I am with a crime against fashion. I don’t walk in sandals but my evening footwear is (are?) Birkenstock EVAS - plastic sandals. Very light and worn with socks if it’s chilly.

if you’re not tired of looking at packing lists anyone want to chime in on newbie list for april-june? (frances)

I am never one to question what women pack as I have no idea. I may have missed something but you have no poncho or anything for the rain. If it is raining in the morning especially you will end up very wet and maybe very cold also. When you are in Pamplona check out Caminoteca. It is an outdoor...

if you’re not tired of looking at packing lists anyone want to chime in on newbie list for april-june? (frances)

I’ve read through a lot of these notes, looking at responses about end of day footwear. I’m taking my OOFAs. I haven’t seen a mention of them. Mostly Keens. Anyone out there like OOFAs?
