I'd love to retire, but can't unfortunately.
But I can work remotely.
And ease back my working hours a bit.
I'm hoping to walk a fair few more Caminos before age and ill health catches up with me.

I'm posting it in the VDLP forum because that is the route that the vast majority of our pilgrims are walking, even though Salamanca is on a few routes (including the Torres, which I will walk when I am done here). Thread 'When did they start playing the bagpipes in the Praza do Obradoiro?'
Leading off from another thread, which will remain anonymous, I am curious to know when they started playing the bagpipes in the archway leading into the Praza do Obradoiro. They certainly weren´t doing it in the late 1980s, and I don´t remember there being a bagpipe player the first time I strode triumphantly into the Praza in 2012. Bagpipe playing is thirsty work, I have been told, so maybe the resident piper was off boosting their fluid intake, but I´m not sure if they were there in 2015...- dick bird

Thread 'Harassment in Coca's Pilgrims Hostal'
Hello im Pablo C Vergara - artist. Its my first camino ever.. been loving it but then this happened... I just stayed in Coca's Pilgrim Hostal and ive received some harassing treatment twice in two days. Now I dont know if its a cultural thing or if i am over reacting but I had to stay an extra day (and paid my 5€ fee too) because im nursing a busted ankle. The Hostal has a poster at the door stating the method of accessing and paying for the service, its completely automated and online. Well...- pablovergara

Walked the Camino to Santiago over 12 times now, never once did I go into the Cathedral. I was impressed by it's understated magnificent facade never felt a need to go in. I am not unreligious just never felt the need.- MickMac
