OC was stupendous! Beautiful warm weather, hardly any wind, clear skies. Sunset and sunrise supreme. The best of the best of OC. It's not feeling overly busy to me. Busier than last fall but really not terrible. I find it easy to walk alone...

I do not usually plan to stop at any particular albergues. I walk the distance that feels right for the day and then aim for the most convenient one. If that happens to be one I've stayed in before and enjoyed then I'll probably go there again...

Probably plane trees I think (if google translate is doing its job correctly - "Platane" in german). They get very big leaves. The way they're pruned, they're like a living roof or umbrella in summer, giving lots of shade.
