The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz
And the sky with no clouds
The heat was hot and the ground was dry
But the air was full of sound ...... yep, that sounds just like the Meseta!

No playlist but often in my mind runs this refrain.

"...There's a long, long trail a-winding
Into the land of my dreams,
Where the nightingales are singing
And a white moon beams.
There's a long, long night of waiting
Until my dreams all come true;
Till the day when I'll be going down
That long, long trail with you."

"For he shall give his angels charge over thee" from 'Elijah' by Mendelssohn. Wesi g in St. Michael's Singers at Coventry Cathedral and sang this the week before I left. It kept running through my head while I was walking and I sang it in empty chuches along the Way.

I'm still debating about whether I'm going to put some music on my phone, as I took my ipod last Camino and only listened to it once in 23 days. However, I do know that this song will be one of my songs if I do.

And just for fun:

"Carrying Your Love with Me" - George Strait
"Anticipation" - Carly Simon
"The Longest Time" - Billy Joel
"I Love a Rainy Night" - Eddie Rabbitt
"A Thousand Miles from Nowhere" - Dwight Yoakam
"Step that Step" - Sawyer Brown
and....
"It's 5 o'clock Somewhere" - Buffett / Jackson

Out of curiosity I searched for "el-camino lyrics" and found a whole lot of country and rockabilly songs about the car/truck chimera.

Beware, there's one popular El Camino song which is most definitely not PG! Google it at your peril. ;)

I never realized that so many well known songs had lyrics that talked about "walking"! This thread has been a fun eye opener for me!
