Problems during Fiesta Nacional de España in October?

Oh dear. What problems will I have for Fiesta Nacional de España in October? Does that mean everything is closed for a long weekend?

Book ahead unless you are in a remote area not prone to tourism. Some albergues may close to allow owners a holiday, too.

When is that? I will be somewhere along the Primitivo at that time I think so I would appreciate knowing so I can prepare, thanks in advance....

Since this falls on a Thursday, I take it folks will make merry on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday at the very least. Is that correct? Are shops closed the whole time or only on 12 October?

Funny story: left Bilbao and went to Porto to avoid all the issues with that Spanish holiday. Turns out that all of Spain had the same idea!!!! . Airport and flights out were jammed and Portugal was awash in Spanish vacationers. Our friends in Bilbao said it was a nice quiet weekend there….
