Pilgrim with shattered wrist

Today in the Atlanta airport I saw a young lady carrying a pack with The Shell. I stopped her to see if she was leaving or returning from the Camino. She had her arm fully bandaged and had shattered her wrist in a fall outside of Pamplona. Although having to undergo a long period in the hospital, she was still enthusiastic about her few days on the Camino and the new friends she
made in Orrison.
I let her know about this forum, and hope she will join and be able to reconnect with some of those that she had walked with over those two days.
If you walked with her, please post something as she did not have time to get much more than first names.
All the best to you, fellow pilgrim, in your healing and return to the Camino in the future.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Don't know which hospital she was in, but in April 2013 my husband broke his hip in Estella. After three days in the hospital there ( a little rough), we transported to Clinicas Universitarias de Navarra in Pamplona. I have nothing but the highest praise for the staff and facilities there during his total hip replacement. AND their cafeteria had beer on tap and pretty decent wine for the caregiving wife

@Janbrovold not what anyone would wish for on camino, but I'm glad he got the care he needed, and you got some slight chance to sample the wine. It looks like you were able to round out the experience a bit later.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Here is a pic from 2016, I love the simplicity of the sketch map and directions "1 km climb up, 5km flat, 5km down". I wonder how the prices are now?
