New bus ticket counter by the pilgrims office

Saw this ad in the paper today… it seems they have opened up the bus ticket counter next to the pilgrims office again as well.

Thanks Ivar. Good thinking by the Monobus but if you have time it is a beautiful camino to the coast. I personally prefer Muxia but that is a personal opinion. Even better after Muxia keep your feet moving to Finestere.

Don't be misled by the ad into thinking that you must buy your ticket(s) at that new location or on line.

You can also buy your tickets live-in-person at the Monbus desk at the intermodal station (in SdeC) or directly from the bus drivers (in such places as O Cebreiro, Sarria, El Ferrol, and etc.)

When I was trying to find onward transport from Santiago last November, there was no bus ticket office at the Pilgrim Office, nor at the intermodal station. At the latter, there was only a machine which was supposed to issue Alsa bus tickets. I could not figure out how to use it and gave up. Neither could a local resident waiting after me. Eventually, I bought a train ticket to Burgos, then took a city bus into town and bought my ticket to Najera, where I was about to volunteer as a hospitalara, from the driver of the Najera bus, which stopped at the Burgos bus station. I am very glad that the system is functioning better now, but still not confident of, for example, being able to buy an Alsa bus ticket in Santiago to get me to Madrid airport in one day. I am relieved to think that the situation is improving, but even more confident in the extensive knowledge of forum members, which is what directed me on my route to Najera last fall.

Was recently in Spain and I found making reservations online the easiest way to go, especially for ALSA.
