Walking off the path I stumbled upon this broken wayside cross, another poignant reminder that everything changes/omnia mutantur.
Three days walking *before* Saint Jean Pied de Port, in France on the Voie de Tours, Dax has very impressive thermal baths, enjoyed since Roman times. Dax is reachable by train from Bordeaux.
Not on the CF but worth a detour: las Pozas de Arnedillo, located at 60 km from Logroño.

There are thermal hot springs in Ourense and I have read a few times of forum members taking a bus there after spending a couple of days in Santiago before going home.
