Late start and was met with fog and high humidity. On the trail and stopped in Monteriggioni for a quick Espresso and onto dirt trails and at times some long stretches on uneven Roman roads.
By the time I reached Siena my feet and ankles were pleading with me to stop.
Tonight after dinner I did a "Passagiatta" through the city, enjoyed a Gelato and then reviewed my itinerary.
While doing so I came to the realization that I have just 10 more walking days until I get to Rome!!!

Thanks so much for your updates...Only about month until I start the Francigena and you mentioning the roman roads made my feet say "remember how we felt on the camino Portuguese from Lisbon!" So I am looking so forward to the journey, but maybe my feet not so much :)

Hopefully you get some cooler weather ahead!

We (my husband and I) are in Peronne right now on the Via Francigena. After the camino frances and camino portugues we wanted to try something different. Last year we walked from Canterbury to...
Anyone walked south from Rome? This looks so interesting and in the south I know that it is less costly.
