Camino Francés 2017, Inglés 2019, Aragónes 2024
After completing the Inglés on June 6th, I plan to take the train to León to rewalk some of my favorite stages of my 2017 Camino. I’d like to get my credential stamped at the Cathedral. I can’t remember if the gift shop is open during siesta, anyone know?

Thanks in advance.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Thanks to you both, it looks like I will not be able to get there in time so, I’ll just start walking to Villar de Mazarife.

I start my first Camino end of May in Leon....do you have any advice for me? Eg albergues. Thanks :)

I do, relax, enjoy every moment, walk at your pace, make friends, when you reach the end of your Camino, reflect and be grateful in your own way. Everything else will fall into place.

Possibly not what you were looking for but, you asked. Buen Camino.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

You can get a stamp at a business in Leon, like a restaurant, so that you have a stamp marking the start of your Camino.

I would consider the route to take out of Leon. Last November we took the scenic route through Mazarife. It was 3km longer than the highway, but unlike the highway, we saw only about 3 cars. We had decided that we were happy to take 3 days to walk from Leon to Astorga. I can recommend the scenic/alternate route. I will recommend San Antony Padua albergue in Mazarife - it was homely and they had a communal meal which was great. We stayed at Albergue Verde in Hospital de Orbega - very interesting!
Take your time and jump on every opportunity that comes your way - the camino is truly life changing!

Hi Holhum. Apart from the very fine Albergue de peregrinos Las Carbajalas, depending on the time of your arrival, you might need to book in somewhere,. We found https://www.hostelcoventgardenleon.es/ was excellent, as we arrived too late to have a chance of getting a bed in Las Carbajalas, last time. We were charged €17.00 each for bed, sheets, blankets, pillows, and breakfast,. The owner spoke English rather well, and while it is not just for pilgrims, it suited us perfectly. Very near the cathedral, just turn right and walk up a few minutes.

Thank you, I realize that. I’d hoped to get the Cathedral stamp is all.
