Some may have noticed that I am down in the Lana rabbit hole. :p I am hopeful that 2023 will be the year I finally get to walk from Alicante. It was planned for 2020, but that was a no-go. In 2021 and 2022, I could only manage a fall camino and I decided to save the Lana for a spring walk. So, fingers crossed!

Another question:

I walked into Santo Domingo the year I walked the Ebro/Castellano-Aragonés, but I simply followed the arrows that took me into town. They make a pretty straight line from Peñacoba into Santo Domingo.

On some forum thread, I learned that the Desfiladero de la Yecla is very near. It also will take you into Santo Domingo, adding about 4 km (?) with a left turn at Peñacoba.

Has anyone done this? Has anyone thought about doing this? I’m sure the trail gets a LOT of traffic, but if it’s not a weekend, it might be very nice.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Just in case pilgrims interested in Santo Domingo de Silas want to visit Sad Hill Cemetery, the restored movie set for The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, nearby there are a couple of forum threads about it. This one will point you to at least one other (probably longer).

Now we return you to @peregrina2000's thread.
Without thinking about Sad Hill, my idea about the day from Santo Domingo de Silos includes that destination. I am hoping to take an off-Lana detour from Santo Domingo de Silos to the monaster of San Pedro de Arlanza and then back to Covarrubias. That is about 26, according to my admittedly inferior distance-calculating skills, and I was happy to see that it just happens to walk through Sad Hill!
