Getting a Credencial at SJPDP Pilgrim Office: Can I buy it after 8:30 PM?

Hello, I'm arriving at SJPDP train station at 20.30 on Monday 8th, will the Pilgrim Office be closed? I think I read that's when they close. I wanted to buy my Credencial that evening - before going to accommodation to get my first stamp! Might I have trouble getting into accommodation without the Credencial that night, or is that only required for the Municipal albergue?
Thank you in advance!

This is a good question. I don't have one either, but I've already booked 2 nights in Hotel des Pyrenees and I didn't need a special Credential for the booking, so I am guessing it is ok.

I'm leaving one day after you!

Update: I just called the hotel and they spoke in English, telling me they don't require guests to have a pilgrim credential :)

Years past the Pilgrim Office in season stayed open for the arrival of the last train. Check the current post here by forum member Monasp the coordinatrice of the Pilgrim office for more info.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
You probably have time to order a credential from the Camino Forum store.

I Honest to God cannot recall if Beilari asked me for my Credencial ... but a fast check with my FindPilgrims footprints makes me think not

My 1st shot of SJPdP is around 3:20PM, my shot of Beilari is at 5:27; then there are couple of photos of me without my backpack & jacket - meaning I had to 'drop them off' (of course one has to remember that Pilgrims not allowed to bring backpacks into the rooms at Beilari .... and perhaps the fact that I had a reservation so Fleur most likely just checked my name off the list) and finally the Pilgrim's Office at 5:48...

I'm going to conclude that I got my Credencial "later on" which is not to say that Joseph & Fleur may have asked for it upon my returning back before dinner

Private accommodations do not require a credential and if you want a stamp you can go to the pilgrim's office the next morning (early), get your credential and bring it to your accommodation and they will stamp it then.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Yes we will be open until the last train arrives
