Flights to Leon

Are there any uk flight companies which fly to Leon? I can only find ones that go via Madrid or Barcelona. If not, then when starting from Leon is it easier to fly to Santiago or to Asturias? (or possibly some other airport I don't know about?) Will only be going as far as Sarria so will have to return to whichever airport from there.
Thanks

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
You will have to go via Madrid or Barcelona to Leon airport.

My guess is that the cheapest and possibly most convenient way is to go via Valladolid with Ryanair and catch the bus to Leon from the airport there.

Hi Ikgj, my partner and I are starting the Camino from Leon 2nd August. We also tried to get flights to Leon from the UK but could not find any. So, we are flying from London Stanstead to Valladolid then taking the bus to Leon. Hope this helps! Shell :D

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hi,

In my opinion, to go to Leon from Madrid by bus or train could be a good option, better than try to go directly to Valladolid or Leon by plane. The airports in this two cities are quite small, it's much easier the bus or train option.

But it's just my opinion.

In my opinion you guys should definitely go by rail. I got a 2 month pass for 3 days of travel in Spain -- it cost about $225 with shipping. Not cheap, but flying into those small towns can sometimes be a major headache AND more expensive.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
We found the Stansted airport to Valladolid route was fine, arrived in plenty of time to take a bus to Valladolid central and then get the ALSA bus to Leon. Left Stansted about 8.30 am and arrived at our hotel in Leon about 3.30pm, with a bit of time to relax in Valladolid.
