Time of past OR future Camino
Primitivo June 2020
My wife, two daughters (8 & 14) and I will be walking the Camino from Baiona to Santiago via the spiritual variant in May. I'd like to try and do it in 6 days. Do these distances and elevation changes seem reasonable?
Day 1 Baiona to Vigo
Day 2 Vigo to Arcade
Day 3 Arcade to Combarro
Day 4 Combarro to Vilanova de Arousa
Day 5 Boat to Padron and 5-10 km walking afterwards
Day 6 rest of the way to Santiago

We're all in reasonably good shape having walked 150 miles of the Appalachian Trail last summer. I can carry the 8 year old if necessary.

Any suggestions on accommodations in those villages. particularly in Arcade and Combarro? We prefer private rooms.

Thanks!

I would say this is doable, considering your high state of fitness. In Arcade, we stayed at Hotel Restaurante Isape and in Combarro at the Hotel Xeito. Both were perfectly fine.

There was a young family, complete with pram for the 5 year old at the cafe by the bridge in Arcade last October so you're not attempting the unusual.

Normal issues apply though - heat, hydration and pace. There are a few climbs here and there (500 - 700 ft) but nothing spectacular.

Enjoy
