I just heard from José Luis of the Via Lusitana that they have opened a pilgrim office in Lisbon. It only opens in the afternoons — every day, from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM. It is a small room in the Igreja da Conceição Velha (Rua da Alfândega...

Just for fun you could start in Valença so that you could walk over the international bridge/border from Portugal to Spain, enjoy Tui and then catch a bus to Vigo.

There are trains but they’re not direct, and many require two changes. This is the website of CP (the Portuguese train operator). A bus might be more convenient. Rede Expressos and Flixbus are the main operators in Portugal. Flixbus doesn’t do...

One option you might wish to consider is, when you reach Caminha on the Minho River, swing east and do the riverside ecopista walk to Valença, which has a scenic 17th century fortress. From there, you can also walk across the river and explore...

Also walked the river route last August - it was very hot. Stopped twice at bars along the route, so no problems. Can read more here: https://followingyourfeet.com/portugal/day-20-seixas-to-valenca/
