I am doing my Camino this summer. Planning to be at Leon or Astorga this August 1st. Can someone tell me what churches host the pilgrim's mass at either city? thx!

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

I do not know if there are specific Masses for pilgrims in both cities but you are perfectly welcome to join all the regular Masses in all churches.

The Sisters of this albergue in Leon ( Monasterio de Santa María de Carbajal ) have a Service at 7 pm.
At 9.30 there are the Completes with Pilgrim's Blessing.

In Leon, I found the mass at Basilica Isidoro very moving. Pilgrims are brought up to the alter as a group and a blessing is made. After mass, pilgrims are greeted individually by the priest at the back of the alter, sacristy?, and leve vía a side door , passing an ancient part of the original church, normally not accessible to the public. It was pretty special.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

Thank you. This information was helpful!

Thanks! That is what I'm looking for. In our last Camino I had a very good (and similar experience) at O Cebreiro. I will check it out. Thank you all for the replies!

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

For Astorga, this website should help: https://www.diocesisastorga.es/actualidad/horario-de-misas . Most (thought not all) will have a pilgrim’s blessing after the Mass, and most will have a stamp too.

I remember we got to Astorga after lunch, and the Cathedral didn’t have a Mass in the afternoon. I remmène praying to be led to a Mass, and what do you know, I stumbled into the church next to the Cathedral (Iglesia de Santa Marta) and Mass was being celebrated! Was so happy 😊.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
