Zamora and Salamanca already closer to Madrid (by train) and Galicia, probably, next month.

The new high speed railway line to Zamora was opened to passenger traffic today. Getting from Madrid to Zamora on the Alvia that makes all the route on the new high speed railway line takes roughly 1h.30m. It makes a stop in Segovia. In January (most likely from Jan 11th), the new high speed railway line will be used too by the Alvias heading from Madrid to Galicia (and from Galicia to Madrid) what will make the route roughly 30 minutes shorter. In the future, the high speed railway line will continue from Zamora to Galicia what will make the route from Madrid to Galicia much shorter but there isn't yet a reliable opening time for that one. Part of the high speed line between Zamora and Galicia could be opened next year and the full line might be opened in 2018 at best.

Alvia trains were introduced today too between Madrid and Salamanca (with a stop in Segovia too). The route from Madrid to Salamanca is made by those trains in roughly 1h. 30m. too.
