Wise Pilgrim App updates?

Time of past OR future Camino
2019
I have the Wise Pilgrim App called All Routes and it says that more routes are coming soon. But I haven’t seen any of the routes that it mentions e.g. Olvidado or Salvador. Is there an updated version that I can get and where can I get it?

Thanks

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
I have the separate WP Salvador, Olvidado and San Olaf apps. I can’t remember what they cost, but I doubt it’s much more than a cup of coffee.

Nonetheless my copy of ‘All Caminos’ - like yours - lists them as coming soon.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Try the Gronze app i preferred it to the wise pilgrims which I used both on the Vdlp!
I just downloaded the Gronze app. It can be used only with an Internet connection so that’s a bit of a disadvantage. It apparently is in Spanish only, or I didn’t see translate function. Translating the website is no problem.

Thanks. Happy to pay for them as and when. I just hoped to have them all in one place.

Have a look at the Gronze Maps app (lower RHS in pic). I used it exclusively on the VdlP last year...very happy with it. It's separate to web based Gronze, and works offline with GPS.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

It doesn't work offline yet.

From their website:

English translation:
"Currently, Gronze Maps only works with Internet connection. If the connection fails temporarily, it will be indicated with a "No Red" message until it becomes available again."

Trecile...interesting. I used the Gronze Map app exclusively on the VdlP. It worked really well offline then. Even mentioned how well it was performing on a VLOG. Maybe another level of development underway (?). Notwithstanding...still worth downloading to a phone and seeing how it performs.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Maybe the map part of the Gronze Maps app works offline but if you click through for more information on an albergue, for example, that requires being online with data.

I don't dispute that the website says that. But neither do I dispute the experience reported by @Kev&Kath. This is one way to not deny their experience. The other is to assume that the Aviso is out of date and the website hasn't been updated to reflect that. I'm open to other explanations.

That's definitely a possibility. But it seems like apps with offline GPS capability have you download the map before you can use it offline. I don't see that download function on the Gronze Maps app.

you can also use alltrails if looking for navigation. I am going to try it in 4 weeks to see its accuracy
I like the Camino specific apps like Wise Pilgrim and Buen Camino because all the information is right there - GPS tracks for navigation, accommodations, what services each town has, plus a bit of history and culture.

We're heading off to Lisbon tomorrow - so will give it a try on the CP. I'll see how it goes and...report back. I do like Wise Pilgrim as well, but also found Gronze Maps very handy on the Via Augusta/VdlP.

Trecile...there's no pre-loading requirement for Gronze Maps. Just open the App and select the location button.

… assuming you’re online?

I think Trecile was referring to the offline maps available in Wise pilgrim - and elsewhere - but not Gronze.
Yes, that's what I meant.
I just uninstalled and reinstalled Gronze maps to see if I had missed something, and there was no option to download maps for offline use.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
This is why we recommend having your own 3G. I used Orange Sim 100gb for €20 for 28days. Gronze is continuously updated Albergues will inform Gronze if they are closing or closed. They just released the app this March ‘24 the gps location works good as do the route again it is updated continuously. The bonus of having your own Internet is you can contact anyone anytime, also Albergues respond better through WhatsApp not email again Gronze will have all contact numbers and they have the routes you are looking for. Ultreia

Have you really tried it?
I just tried it at home. The App wording is correct. You can't view the map without internet connection. At least not when you like to zoom into it.
