some and then more. see my signature.
Loooking forward to everyone's pictures in this new year.
Thumbnails of the pictures are always ok.

I started with a small local round of 3.3 km.
Send us some sun please!

Very windy and grey.
Unfortunately some abandonded firework. Though strictly forbidden people still take huge risks.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

While I condemn breaking the rules and potentially disturb wildlife with fireworks .... it is so much worse to actually leave behind the rubbish created. I do not understand people. Even if you are too drunk to take care of your stuff at night you can always can come back the next morning and clean up.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Thank you, @SabsP !
And happy New Year to all!

Haha, not if you were too sloshed to remember anything.

Rain and strong wind in the far North of Holland today. I'm not the least tempted to go out there this afternoon, so I will walk inside, back and forth.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Hours before 2025, just missed the end of the 2024 thread Photos from my Christmas Eve walk along the trails of the Alaksen National Wildlife Area. I've been walking in this area for a few years and just today discovered an interior trail that I didn't know existed! Along the river path I always enjoy a view of my village across the north arm of the mighty Fraser River. A beautiful Golden-crowned Kinglet landed very close and thoroughly checked out the tree for a few minutes before continuing on its way.

Day 1 January - new year 2025. Deserves a new Trail. ( although they all look a bit the same out of Las Vegas -ie red rock and spiky plants). The reddish round spiky guys are called California Barrel cactus. The walk wasn’t long in distance but it was interesting stopping to check out the variety of rocks everywhere and wonder how they arrived on the scene.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I could upload scenic photos of the landscape, but this is the one that brought me the most joy on my morning walk. All the agricultural and domestic waste outside the neighbouring cattle sheds — shredded silage wrap, torn fertiliser bags, scrap metal, tractor tyres, broken buckets, rubber gloves, used syringes, chemical containers, old fridge-freezer, kitchen cabinets, toys etc. — has been removed. The culprit is unlikely to reoffend.

A long term resident. On the lookout for lunch.
I have pics but don't know where they are of a very pleasant walk along the former Erie Canal towpath in central New York. Some of them include similar "long-term residents."

Here's a pic on the Coventry Canal from Birmingham to Coventry and beyond. Somewhere on an unmaintained section, the brush shoved me and my bicycle into the canal. My laptop still worked, but couldn't be recharged after that. Later, an interesting marker when I arrived in Oxford.
The forum software insists that the only place to insert is inside Kirkie's quote. But you can click on them to see the full images.
