Such lovely photos! and in them, the author is smiling through! Glad I looked at this on my laptop, as the snow seems to be quite at home falling on your photos. Usually I just shiver when I see that snow...It is a bit dark here at the moment at daytime. Sun beiing back over the horizon around January 20. Too little snow for skiing at the moment, but still a walkingpath to my local hill! Happy new year everyone!
A question: How can I manage to see all of a photo? On my iPad I often have to just give up, and the previous post has a photo I would love to see properly. Any ideas?
Collingwood Beach, Jervis Bay. Best spot on earth! And yes, the front yard - of a family beach house in which we stay each year.
This is one I took on Monday morning en route to getting the jab in my knee that has meant house imprisonment. Free tomorrow so hope it will be a nice day...It still feels a bit empty, almost echoing here.. Like I am a bit lost and NOT at home, in my virtual albergue. Where are you all? Shall I send out a search party? Elephant? Mouse? Anyone? Maybe I have to go out in the garden to look in the cherrytree?
Thx. Just tried it on @Kanga’s picture and it works!!On the (half) photo you see, look for the symbols that come and go in the top right hand corner .. the square with the arrow is the second from the left (I think ) ... touch it and a new tab will open with the photograph ...
@kirkie
Edit: I’ve sent you a PM ... it’s a lot ‘clearer’ than the above!

Hey, i bet not too many folks can pronounce that! Ah’m frae Kirkie so I have an advantage. Lovely photos.Walked around Milngavie Reservoir which is just outside Glasgow, on New Years Day, not an overly strenuous walk but delightful.
Smashing photos Helen. Must look that up some day.Walked the “Cuillcagh” in Co Fermanagh, Ireland. It’s over natural and preserved bog, a good 10k, famous for the boardwalk part.
Thanks Kirkie, often do the forth and Clyde canal out to Kirkie n Back.Hey, i bet not too many folks can pronounce that! Ah’m frae Kirkie so I have an advantage. Lovely photos.

La Zenia to Campomoar & back
An 11k coastal walk
Beautiful walk along the Clyde, out to transport museum, and a wee cuppa,No views of my walk today. Sun too strong in my eyes. Lovely brisk walk along by the river, into town and back out again. Chinese New Year celebrations evident in a few places. Here is a view from another walk along same route.

There were quite a few people on the ridgeway of the Deister, first day with a temperature above 15°C.
Enjoyed it very much!
Lovely, Sabine. My walk was too brief, but also in bright sunshine and comfortable temperatures. No need to post photos, have done so before and today just wanted to get in the walk, while thinking and looking around me. Have a lovely day, everyone.Seven k.walk in the area.
Glorious 12 Celsius.
I know, not the same, but when it is far away from me, i give myself poetic licence: Almost Heaven, West Virginia.... thanks for sharing your joyful photos.Walking in Colorado...some of it is by bicycle, some by cross country skis, some by snowshoe and some just walking on the side of a mountain. how coldly (!) lovely! thank you, Alan. last week, some people thought Spring had come to Dublin. Hah! think again! After an abnormally mild and dry February, today we got a rather brutal reminder that spring is still a fair way from the Scottish border.

Hi Alanskyes, the old saying March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, it’s very picturesqueAfter an abnormally mild and dry February, today we got a rather brutal reminder that spring is still a fair way from the Scottish border.

The snow melted almost as soon as it came, sending an awful lot of water down the river Gelt, which is 2-3 feet higher than usual today. My dog and I often like to swim in the pool by this waterfall, but perhaps not todayhow coldly (!) lovely! thank you, Alan. last week, some people thought Spring had come to Dublin. Hah! think again!
intrepid child! lovely photos, thanks!Good that someone has good sense, @alansykes. I always listen to a good dog when he or she says "Not today, thanks." (Wonderful pics, as usual!)
I've had only a little time to walk, besides the usual evening exercise, which is hardly photogenic.
But it's lovely to see everyone's rambles.
A few weeks ago we went up the road with the neighbors to see the blooming cherry trees, which are pretty unusual here. And the youngest person in the party promptly ran up the tree to pic flowers (obviously this is not Japan!)
Oh! I am envious! Truly.Due to heavy snowfall accompanied by heavy wind it was only a short walk in the woods with the dog today ... no photos taken as it was not much light actually. But an overnight tour is planned sometime the coming days. That would be on skis.
Hopefully it will be a bit warmer then. The last night out was a couple of days ago ... -28°C (see picture)

Me too.Oh! I am envious! Truly.
Cheats are allowed on this thread, hadn’t you noticed? A landmark occasion, for your son, and for the old daddy!Still enjoying this thread a lot! But it's been too long since I contributed, partly because my walks aren't all that local the last couple of months. Like last week: me and my son spent 5 days abroad (as a gift to him for reaching his 18th birthday and his high school diploma). We logged more than 100 km walking through our destination, but I am cheating a little by posting this pic as it was hardly local (for us).
How hopefilled, Sabine! Lovely, thanks. I am waiting for visitors on this unexpectedly bright day, so really thankful for your photos. Finally a dry day.
Gorgeous and relaxing.
Not without its share of mud, I see.Gorgeous and relaxing.

WowAnother tour on skis today ... this time Nordic on the track
