Walk the Camino self-guided walking holidays from Inn to Inn

Hi,

I run a travel company in Australia & through a personal interest & our specialistation in walking & cycling holidays in Europe & we have developed a new program for the full Camino route from Le Puy in France to Santiago.

Having watched the many walkers struggling under weighty packs & rushing for the last few places at a (not so free) hostel I thought there must be a better way.

So we have established a system to book the Camino week by week over 11 weeks whether you start in Le Puy, Conques, St Jean, Leon or any of the major starting points.

What we offer is pre-booked accommodation (usually 1 or 2-star hotels, baggage transfers (yes we move your bag from hotel to hotel) breakfast & a simple dinner most nights plus some background info on the route, maps etc.

We also have a local 'help' service, based in the Pyrenees, so that if you need assistance someone can be called to help - speaking English, French or Spanish.

Yes, I appreciate this is a commercial venture that might not suit genuine pilgrims but for an increasing number of walkers who don't have the time for the weeks that the walk can take this is a way of doing the trip piece by piece, holiday after holiday.

It also helps the enormous number of more elderly walkers who can't carry a pack & who need a minimum level of confort & the security of a confirmed bed & bathroom each night.

We help travellers from Australia or anywhere else in the world & our trips can depart on any day (from April to October) with no minimum or maximum numbers. Minimum duration is 1 week (7-nights)

You can get us by email or through our website http://www.outdoortravel.com.au

I & my staff are committed walkers & I have travelled this area extensively so we are happy to offer assistance or advice to anyone planning a more organise trip.

We also have a free colour brochure that I can post to you.

Let me know if we can help

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Well,

Reading this advertising-post I hardly can imagine that someone will use this service.
Although everyone does his own camino I think everyone can do it in the way that this service offered, by yourself.

One advantage: as your lugage is brought to the next hotel (where you don't meet other pelgrims!) you don't have to use a back-pack. A normal suitcase (with wheels!) can be used! :D

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I think that your Holiday Tours are not like a Pilgrimage. However to each his own. I hope that you have contacted Ivar as an advertiser, he really does a good job and would be helpful to your enterprise.

I Think that anything that will promote and assist those who otherwise would be unable to experience the Camino is a good thing. I am not a purist and I would guess that for all of us, it is rather a matter of degree. Otherwise, why would we spend hundreds of dollars to reduce the weight of our backpacks by a few lbs. If the goal is mortification, would not more be better? For me, the externals exist to provide a framework for the internal. I say good on ya mate. John

group travel.

wHAT about putting the local people out of business. There is in place a service to transport baggage between towns. Use them!!!!
