walk from Amsterdam to Santiago?

I'm still reveling in my recent camino from SJPP to Santiago (and on to Fisterra). I'd like to return as soon as I have the money and would like to start in Amsterdam--I met so many wonderful pilgrims / hospitaleros from the Netherlands and some of whom had even walked from their doorsteps (as I cannot, as an american)...as an erasmus of rotterdam fan, starting in the low country has that added midieval bonus. Any advice or experience from those who may have walked from amsterdam? arbitrary starting point or not, i'd sure love to hear from anyone with any knowledge.

Hi Pedro,
Amsterdam is the starting point of the official Dutch camino (Pelgrimspad LAW 7-1 and 7-2*) to Visé just across the Belgian border near Maastricht where it connects to regional Routes Saint- Jacques to Santiago and the European GR5/E2 to Nice on the Mediterranean coast. In Luxemburg you can take a right turn on the E3 to Santiago. See the map on http://www.era-ewv-ferp.org/?page_id=29.

The second leg (264 km; now LAW 7-2) 's-Hertogenbosch-Visé was my baby! You can buy the topo-guides in the better bookshops in Holland or order from the publisher:
http://www.wandelnet.nl/routes/laws.asp?type=1&route=17 Pelgrimspad LAW 7-1
http://www.wandelnet.nl/routes/laws.asp?type=1&route=18 Pelgrimspad LAW 7-2
http://www.wandelnet.nl/bestellen/default.asp?showall=0 for ordering (bestellen)
They contain a chapter 'How to use this guide, when you are unfamiliar with the Dutch language' and a 'List of words'. All routes are waymarked in European white and red.

Publisher: Stichting Wandelplatform-LAW, Postbus 846, 3800 AV Amersfoort, the Netherlands, Tel.: 033-465 36 60, Fax: 033-465 43 77, E-mail: slaw@wandelnet.nl.

Buen Camino!

* LAW = Lange-Afstand-Wandelpad = Long Distance Path = Grande Randonnée
* Pelgrimspad LAW 7 's-Hertogenbosch-Visé (B) was opened in 1983 under the auspices of the 'Council of Europe, Cultural Routes' (onder auspiciën van de 'Raad van Europa, Culturele Routes').

I just found this but none of the links work for me.

Have any pilgrims on the forum done this route?

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Yes, Annie, we did!
Some parts more than 10 years ago, but I know the country :)
If you have questions just ask and/or mail me.
