Transport to SJPDP from Biarritz and somewhere to stay 1 night

I am landing in Biarritz on the 9th May and starting my walk from SJPDP on the 10th May.
Does anyone have any suggestions where I can stay overnight on the 9th.
And secondly how I can get from Biarritz to SJPDP

I devote a little more time than you to stay at least one night in Bayonne then 2 or 3 more in St Jean before walking.

As long as you're arriving at a reasonable hour (you haven't mentioned your time), the easiest thing to do is to leave the airport, take a taxi and get yourself to your pre-booked lodging (of which there is plenty to choose from- I like the Hotel des Pyrenees for a good rest.
Or, you could take the bus to Bayonne and then the dinky train - a lot cheaper but also quite a bit slower.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
There is also Express Bouricott that provides shuttle services in the area. I arranged to be picked up at the airport in Biarritz and shuttled to SJPDP

I'm travelling a day ahead of Grumpygit. Staying 1 night at Biarritz and using Express Bourricot to SJPP. Staying 1 night in SJPP then starting my Camino. In hindsight, I regret not staying longer at SJPP, but I've booked accommodation at Borda and Roncesvalles. Given the reports of both places being booked, changing doesn't seem to be an option.

This is my first time posting. I have some questions.
How easy have others found Biarritz airport and finding the coach that goes to Bayonne?
I would welcome any recommendations for accommodation near the railway station in Bayonne?
Should I book the train from Bayonne to St Jean Pied du Port for the end of August or buy a ticket on the day?

Hotel Cote Basque is directly across from the train station in Bayonne and is a decent place. Many dining options nearby also. I hesitate to advise about advance rail ticket purchases, but I don’t imagine that the train will be overbooked. Can’t hurt to buy ahead though

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
In my memory the coach to Bayonne stops very near to the exit of the airport.
Keep in mind that Biarritz airport is a very small airport.

Hotel Cote Basque is indeed a very good place; great breakfast!
Don't need to book the train to SJPdP in advance, but for your own convenience: get a ticket from the vending machine for the train of the following morning, as it can be crowded in the morning with pilgrims buying a ticket and it often takes some time to get a ticket if you are not familiar with the vending machine.

Thank you both for your replies. This forum is a mine of information.

Thanks for asking that question! I've just booked my flights so I'm a wee bit feart and this was one of the concerns swirling around in my head.
