Hi,
Im trying to save some money on my next trip by flying BA or Air France or Air Canada into London and switching to a low cost airline into northern Spain. To do this I need to switch airports and so Im looking for a little help.
I would like to fly into london heathrow or gatwick, neither of which I have been thru and fly out of stanstad which I have. I would like to fly in and out of the london area on the same day and need to find a simple cheap way to get between these airports, if such a thing is possible, and some idea of how much time I need to allow between flights.
Any ideas?
thanks Jim

Train for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island March 16-19
You can travel from central London to Gatwick by either a National Express bus from Buckingham Palace Road (near Victoria rail station) or by tube to Tottenham Hale and then train to Stansted airport.
The Gatwick Express train goes from Gatwick airport to Victoria. The Heathrow Express joins into the tube network in central London.
If you cannot find the details you want PM me with dates/times and I will look for you.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The trains from London to the airports tend to be expensive (well they are to me!)

If you take the train make sure you get an open return or you really will pay through the nose.

Buses can be slow and Gatwick and Heathrow are some distance from Stanstead.

Try to fly to Gatwick and then Easyjet out as suggested.

This is based on living in both north and south London.

We have booked flights from Australia to London Heathrow. We are flying same day to Biarritz. We have organised for a car transfer to Stansted for 78 Euros. It might be more expensive than taxis, buses or trains but it is booked in and reduces the risk of missing flights. Overall it is cheaper than flying in to Paris and flying to Biarritz from there or catching the train to Bayonne.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Jastrace. The cost of the car sounds ok. Have you driven Heathrow to Stanstead before? May I ask what time you due in/out?

Hi there,
Thanks for all the responses. Jeff sent me to a website for stansted airport and from there a link to natioanl express, a bus company, and it looks like there is service between airports. It looks like for twenty five pounds you can travel from heathrow to stansted in about ninety minutes. It looks like they go often to boot.
Thanks again
