Buen Camino!
Time of past OR future Camino
Frances 2021, Ingles 2023
I finally got around to having my Compostela and certificates framed. Doing so was more time consuming, irritating and painful than walking.

The first attempt by the framers had everything at odd angles (5cm from frame on one corner 2cm from frame in another), items incorrectly mounted, glops of glue. I nearly cried from the assault on my things as well as the cost.

They started over, tore the banner, refunded the entire purchase and it is up in my stairwell. Some of the items are only slightly crooked now and I have decided that like a Camino, things do not always go to plan.

Should I ever be insane enough to frame my bits and bobs again I will do it myself, with much smaller frames as this one barely fits in our car.

It looks good from my view.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

I found a cherry wood box with a scallop shell lid. It resides on my living room coffee table. In it are all of my credenciales, and small keepsakes. This makes a good conversation point.

My certificates (Compostelas, volunteer and other honors) are in A4-sized page protectors, in an A4-sized “loose leaf” binder that I bought in an Oriental shop in Santiago.

My wall is reserved for a framed copy of “The Big Map” sold by Ivar. I also have several shadow frames with a variety of lapel pins from my Caminos, and another with embroidered patches.

This worked for me, without annoying my wife.

The box sounds perfect! I have the big map on another wall, or at least a big map and another frame with credentials etc from the Camino I did with my sister last year, any future credentials will probably never see the light of day . I've taken over the stairwell. Eventually I may find a way to put up narrow shelves for the tiles, plaques,, ceramic pomegranates and witches I have collected from Caminos and touring about. lol I am not a minimalist.
