Hello, We are excited to be starting Camino Frances soon and wonder if anyone has thoughts about catching a taxi from Pamplona airport to SJPDP at 22.00 on Monday 18th April. Would this be too late in the day? Thanks for any info

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I did something similar 15 years ago on my first Camino. Problem is that you might not find a place to sleep that night arriving that late. Maybe is worthier to sleep in Pamplona and take it early in the morning. In my case, I arrived by train at 5-6AM and met two girls outside in my same situation. We had a coffee, found a taxi and drove us all the way up to SJPDP

Think over your foolish plan; stay in Pamplona, have a bottle of wine, relax, and start your Camino the next day from there!

Better to spend the night in Pamplona, and take the bus to SJPDP the next day (or taxi - but the bus is cheap and easy to do). You would find it difficult to find a place to stop if you are departing at 2200 for SJPDP. Not many lodgings will take such late arrivals. Also - Taxi might be pretty expensive. We were charged 50 Euros to taxi from Roncesvalles to SJPDP.

Come on now... we don't know where this individual is from - but s/he may be used to travelling to places with 24 hour front desk for late night check ins. I know in the USA this is possible with most major hotel chains.

But yes - have wine, relax, and start the journey to SJPDP the next day.

Hi @rah . Welcome to the forum! It sounds like you are understandably eager to get started on your Camino. 🙂 Were you thinking to start walking the next day, and to where? You would want to check in advance that your lodging place will accept the late arrival.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Further, the drive on that winding road late at night would be appropriate for a Disneyland amusement ride...

Hi I'm travelling to Burgos to walk part of the Camino Frances next year and my options seems to be fly into Santander and coach to Burgos, or fly into Madrid, then coach to Burgos. Don't think...
Hello! I’ve been browsing the forum and there’s plenty of info for baggage transfers from stage to stage, where you pick it up daily, give it back and move on, however what I’m after is a service...
