I came across this in my daily reading. It may be of interest to our peregrinas. It seemed very clever to me.

See the article here:

Also, here is the direct product link on the web:

Hope this helps someone.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
It's not really a new idea. Others have had similar design ideas but never seem to take off into mainstream.

No matter how much she raves about them in the article - it still sounds uncomfortable and wearing them "commando" seems illogical unless on a day hike. It seemed a more PR piece - and she even talks of the persistence of the PR team.

I think I will stick with my trousers and scarf combo for having to go if I can't find a more private spot - (Which is also a much cheaper option given the pricing) But also only once did I actually need to use the scarf method on the camino

Seems like over-engineering to me!

I don't recall ever thinking, I wish I had an easier way to pee outdoors...

Plus don't like the bulk of a zipper there and having to walk hours "commando" - hard pass
I'll also add, I think it would be harder to hand wash these in a sink, and likely need to be washed every day. Easier to just wash underwear every day

need to come with a panty with similar design 😂

Neat - though, wouldn't a skirt solve the problem? A kilt does for men. (Note: The male trouser zip is too short, it needs to go at least four inches further to allow full access.)

Re the design ... shouldn't there be a flap inside that runs along the zip?
There is a generous internal flap. On the website it appears to be a turquoise color.

I can think of a million reasons why this 'solution' wouldn't work for me. In fact, it sounds like an accident waiting to happen. If you go clad in underwear, there is likely to be a time where you will have to bash your undies against a rock in order to clean them. If you go commando, well, for one thing a zip isn't really comfortable to sit with, in the nether regions. Additionally, there would be the whole 'forgetting to zip it back up again' dilemma, and it looks like something that only an extremely young, supple person (or a seasoned circus performer) could achieve with ease. Definitely not for me, but I do thank the OP for thinking of the ladies.

Mrs HtD has (or had) a pair from our multi-pitch climbing days; if you’ve a sit-harness on it’s feasible for suitably well equipped (ahem!) males to find a route through to the outside to urinate, for females the zip-through is the only option. It does necessitate ‘going commando’ though.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
The Beloved advises me that she can do whatever she wants to do whenever she wants to do it. I guess that includes peeing in, on, or near bushes. She also advises that she will exercise discretion in her exercises and expects that others will reciprocate. The way she dealt with some bloody stupid who encountered her exercising and didn’t have the common sense or decency to look away or just move on is a treasured memory for me. Probably not for the bloody stupid.

I appreciate the need and benefit of “open crotch” clothing for women in Arctic, Antarctic and high altitude climbing environments but Camino???

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.
Not exactly the same way. Let me explain... 😂
Clearly not what I said! You are far better than that and no need to play the gallery for likes! Sure I get that the ‘logistics’ are different, but behind the bush, is behind the bush. I appreciate some some folks are worried that their bodies (bottoms/vaginas) may be seen.. maybe it’s a national culture thing!!’

ok, get that, but it's a Sunday in November, let's lighten up and have some fun!

Sure.. knock yourselves out🙄

Lookit, I've said it before:
I'm no prude, far from it, but I really don't think this forum is the best place for discussing the nuances and graphic details of women peeing. If you need to, just learn how to go in the nature for yourself before going on any outdoor trip/hike/camino or whatever.. then just get on with it, no need to tell the whole internet, and no need to make a big deal of it..

I just don’t understand what the problem is 😳
I walk in England, there aren’t any loos anywhere in the countryside. Yes, when/if you stop at luchtime in a pub. But that’s it. How do you cope between 9am and 4 pm?
I walk in France, same. Not many cafés around!
Of course you go behing a bush! 🙄 What else is there to do? As long as you don’t leave any litter!
Even if you walk in a group, no problem, everybody knows why you’re stopping, just because they’ll have to stop too soon enough 🙄
Tss

Agree.
Then again , discretion seeems to be a precious thing nowadays.
Luckily there is an ignorefunction here that I can use. I can do without the tackiness.
