silly format question

Hi, everyone,

This is not a big problem, but I'm wondering if I'm doing something to change the formatting of the posts. All the lines are centered rather than justified to the left margin. I'm not sure I'm explaining it right, so I guess my first question is whether this makes sense. And if so, does anyone know what I'm doing to make that happen?

Thanks, Laurie

Mine started doing the same thing about a week ago. It is hard to read, and I have not been able to fix it. Anyone else?

Scroll this whole snip photo---the first post is proper left margin, the next two are centered:

Must be a browser setting. I'm using Tapatalk on my smartphone and all looks fine to me.

Mine is also centered. Started about a week ago. Nothing has changed in my browser settings so that should not be it.

I was just waiting to see who was going to bring it up. 8)

I know Ivar is very busy...so maybe we can all just live with it until he can find time to look into it.

I called the IT support centre and they said just turn your computer on and off again and that should fix it. If not just log a job.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I think that this is related to the centre-justified "Thank you for your donation to the forum" message sited just below the first post in a thread. I can recreate the problem with Internet Explorer but not Google Chrome so may just be unique to IE.

I'll PM Ivar as it looks pretty easy to fix. Thanks for raising it.

Cheers

Another issue:

Often when I log on and click on View New Posts or Members or whatever I get this message:

"Information
Sorry but you cannot use search at this time. Please try again in a few minutes."

Sometimes it clears after repeated attempts, sometimes not. Is it just me?

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
John,

I get this message on occasions too for both "View New Posts" and "View Active Topics". It also goes away after a while and as it happens infrequently, I've never looked into why this may be occurring.

Does anyone else out there receive this message and it is infrequent or pretty regular?

Cheers
Mig

This happens when there are many doing searches on the forum at once. For the forum, "View New Topics" and "Recent Topics" are both considered searches (that gives you some results).

Since a "search" is relatively processor intense (it uses a lot of server resources), the forum software has a functionality were if many try to do a search at once, it allows x searches/minute and then once that limit is reached the next user sees this message (that they need to wait a bit and try again). This is actually a nice feature, since if too many searches are done at once the server might just say "good night" and go down.

This is the reason for why I have removed the internal forum search feature, and try to send people to the google forum search... to limit the load on the server.

If this becomes a big problem, I will have to look at this and chance some settings..... but for now I think I will leave it as it is... we have had the same setting for about 6-7 months now.

Will you let me know if this comes up "all the time"... then I will look at this again.

Thanks!
Ivar

Thanks so much for the quick fix. It really wasn't a big deal, but I always assume that I'm the one making some kind of a computer mistake and was hoping to be told how to fix it. How great it is to learn that everyone makes computer mistakes at some time or another -- makes me feel less like a buffoon!
