Are shops open on Sunday in St Jean. I forgot to pack my puffy jacket😮

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
It looks like Boutique du Pelerin is open from 7 am to 7:30 pm, but the bigger sports store is closed on Sunday.

Prepare for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island, Oct 27 to Nov 2

It was to be my zecond layer of warmth while heading over the Pyrenees. It snowed in Roncesvalles a few days ago

Upon searching, the daytime high predicted for the Cold de Bentartea on this coming Sunday is 16C with a nighttime low of 4C. Being a mountain pass, things can be unpredictable, but consider whether you would be okay wearing all of your clothes in layers (even a rain poncho over everything would add some heat retention). While walking you’ll be warm but if for any reason you need to pause, you’ll want to be able to layer up.

Perhaps check that forecast at the Pilgrim Office before hitting the shop and ask your hospitalero; local knowledge is best.

Edited to add: weather forecast came from here: Meteoblue

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I don’t know where a daytime high of 16 °C is currently predicted for this coming Sunday - even when it is the 16th of April. And I can’t say whether a pilgrim will need a puffy jacket or not but I second the recommendation of the Boutique du Pelerin. Although not a mega-large store they are well stocked and ought to have everything a pilgrim would need at short notice.

FWIW, below is my app’s current prediction for the weather in two day’s time on the Route Napoleon at 1300 m altitude. Might feel a bit nippy in the morning, I’d say …

I just heard from someone who is there now and walked up to the Pic d’Orrison (is doing the shuttle back and forth); it was about 6 C, raining, and there is snow up there.

Buen camino!

Currently in SJPDP and I’m very happy I brought my puffy. Can confirm the pilgrim store has jackets and pretty much everything you would need in stock. I’m starting the Camino on Sunday after the rain stops so can share prices or anything you’d like tomorrow if there’s a need.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

Thank You.

I was at SJPdP early part of April 2023 and while there I remember my kids going to this store that sells foie gras and make sandwiches of it. I bought a couple of packs (4 containers) of their foie gras that do not need refrigeration to take home to my kids in the USA two (2) months later. The french lady in the store was very kind to assist me in my selection and purchase. I'm pretty sure the store is past the baguette vendo machine and the St James archway where the camino starts. But for the life of me I cannot remember the name of the store. I just have this crazy idea of purchasing some foie gras while I am still in US and still planning my next pilgrimmage. Any help will be very much appreciated. Thank you. Merci beacoup. Muchas gracias.
