Cool idea! From Honolulu here (USA). I'm actually starting in August from Le Puy, but my goal is to reach SJPP by Sept 28, and then start the Francès on September 30. If I time it right I should end in Santiago on or before All Saints Day.

I'm from Brisbane (Australia) starting my Camino Frances from SJPDP on 3 September. Overnight booked at Orisson then taking my time to Santiago and on to Muxia if I have time.

I am starting in Oviedo on the 29th of August to walk the Primitivo to SdC and plan to be there on the 10th of September. Then a bus to Lisbon on the 11th of September to start the Portuguese on the 12th of September arriving back in SdC on the 11th of October. Finally a bus to Ferrol on the 12th of October and starting the Ingles the same day to walk back to SdC on the 17th of October.

Then home....

Devon Mike your itinerary seems as complicated as mine!

I start August 29 flying to the Azores, then Coimbra, Aveiro and start walking in Porto on the 8th of September. I should get to O Porriño about the 17th of September and transfer over to the Sanabres and arrive in Santiago about the 23rd of September. Next I will spend a day in A Coruña and then start walking the Inglés from Ferrol and arrive in Santiago again on the 30th of September. Next I am considering the Primitivo from Lugo starting the 1st of October arriving in Santiago for the third time this trip on the 5th of October. October 6th I fly to Seville and will walk the Caminito del Rey on the 8th of October then spend a week in the Algarve and finally Lisbon. I fly home on the 15th of October.

I hope I meet some of you fine people along the way. I will be the bald guy with the gray handlebar moustache and the small bright green backpack with the forum patch on it.

We leave Phoenix Az on Sept. 4th, arrive in Barcelona on the 5th. Two nights there.
Sept 7th: train to Pamplona & bus to St. Jean. Two nights there.
Sept 9th: Orisson
Sept 10th: Roncesvalles

We will reach Santiago by the end of Oct. I am counting the weeks and getting excited.

I will be the short, grey haired woman. Blue Osprey backpack with a dull red sash that has white double palm trees on it. Wave as you pass me. I walk slow.

Pat, Carol, and Bruce all late 60's and 70's starting from Pamplona Sept. 1. This is the first for all of us. we are walking 3 weeks, with a break between Logrono and Leon. We know all the arguments against doing it this way, but the final decision was a combination of where we wanted to walk, a concession to our ages, and the amount of time we have for our first Camino. We will be relatively slow, so hope some of the Sept. starts will catch up with us! Been Camino all!

I didn't walk Primitivo yet but I did Ingles and I think it would be wiser to walk Primitivo earlier than Ingles (less tough) because of the autumn rain. Just a thougth

Thanks KinkyOne, I am meeting a friend who has not walked the Inglés yet and we want to make sure there is time for him to complete it. If we have extra time after the Inglés then we will go to the Primitivo. We will be watching the weather too.

Oops, when I posted my reply I didn't read that you were referring to the Camino Frances!! I have walked from SJPP to SdC three times, so this year I am going on different paths.

Enjoy your birthday, I am sure you will lose your way and end up on the Camino de Tinto....

- 21 members responded to your thread,
- 6 of them won't walk Camino Frances what was your initial interest,

My husband, Freddy, and I (Emilia) will be arriving on Roncesvalles on Sept. 12 and start walking on the 13th. We'll leave the USA on Sept. 10, arring to Madrid and traveling to Pamplona on the 11th. We plan to spend that night in Pamplona and do a little sightseeing there and leave for Roncesvalles during the day. We live in New Jersey. We think we will be walking about 15 km a day and we have about 35-37 days. After that, we will travel to Portugal for a couple of days.

We are looking forward to walk El Camino!

Great idea, Jill. I'm taking my first steps on Camino out of SJPdP on September 15th. I'm flying out of East Wenatchee, WA on the 13th. My son, Caleb, will be with me for the first ten days, then I'm on my own to Santiago de Compostela.

Travis from Carson City NV and I, Bruce from Morongo Valley CA will be stepping off from Pamplona 1 Sept 2017. We plan to walk to Santiago, Finisterre and Muxia. I celebrated my birthday last year in Ponferrada. My Camino friends surprised me with a dulce de torta with candles. It was a fun evening!

For those arriving in Santiago near the end of October, the Cathedral uses the Botafumeiro on All Saints Day (November 1). The liturgical calendar says the archbishop will be presiding over the noon mass.
