Hey folks my partner need's to finish her Camino from Villafranca, what would be the best way to get there without going into Santiago as she want's to walk in at end of trip, thank you for any advice.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
The Beloved took a flight to A Coruna and a bus from there a few years back. Worked well enough for her. I guess it depends if you can get an easy flight to A Coruna. Flight to Madrid & a bus from there would work too but its a long bus trip as I recall.

Holoholo automatically captures your footpaths, places, photos, and journals.
Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Now that seem's like a plan, flight get's in around 16:00 so I guess we'd stay near airport and go for early bus next day to Lugo, unless we can get to Lugo that evening as I really like it there. :)
I'm sure you can get to Lugo the same day and enjoy it as there are multiple bus companies operating this stretch.

There are also ALSA buses from Santiago bus station, check if the times suit? You can get the airport bus straight to the bus station and not see Santiago as such.

Flight from Dublin - Madrid. Bus from Madrid to Villafranca and walk from there....that's the way we did it in September!

Empresa Freire offers a direct service from Santiago Airport to Lugo.
If you arrive at 16.00 h, you can get to Lugo on the same evening, as normally there are buses on 17.00, 18.30 and 20.00 h.

Empresa Freire Timetables

Once in Lugo you can catch an early ALSA bus to Villafranca del Bierzo the next morning. It takes at about 1,5 hours from Lugo to Villafranca.

I took a bus from the SdC bus station to Pedrafita, walked from there to O'Cebreiro and back to VdB. I would guess a taxi from Pedrafitaj to VdB is a possibility but price would be an unknown. But I have to believe that there is a local bus from Pedrafita to VdB. I don't believe the bus from SdC to Pedrafita was ALSA, but a more regional...if my memory serves me correctly.

Usual spanish taxi fare is 1km = 1€, mas o meno. Now it depends if it's expensive or cheap for you ;)

8 hrs!!! not at all, I think about 4-4.5. Anyway we left Dublin at 6:30 am, our evening meal in Villafranca, had a stroll around, bed early and was on the road for 8:30 next morning...not a bother...ages 71 & 68!

Most excellent !!!!

Train for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island March 16-19
I suspect the Empresa Freire (http://www.empresafreire.com/html/ingles/seccion3a.php) bus to Lugo and overnight in the lovely city of Lugo looks to be best option. Whichever way you go, could you post how the journey went. I love that stretch from Villafranca coming in to Galicia and the Dublin - Santiago flight is a good option for us in Liverpool. If you are feeling strong the alternate route from Villafranca to Trabadelo via Pradela is very tough but very beautiful.

Hi I'm travelling to Burgos to walk part of the Camino Frances next year and my options seems to be fly into Santander and coach to Burgos, or fly into Madrid, then coach to Burgos. Don't think...
Hello! I’ve been browsing the forum and there’s plenty of info for baggage transfers from stage to stage, where you pick it up daily, give it back and move on, however what I’m after is a service...
