Route Changes on Norte?

I walked Irun to SdC last year and am now on Norte with my wife (Santander to SdC). Am I not recalling things very well or have many of the routes changed from last year? For example, I recall walking along a highway between Luarca and La Caridad past a church with a clock tower … this year we seem to pass behind it in a field. I’ve noticed a number of changes … using the Buen Camino app as a guide … same as last year.

Yes, they have changed the official route in many areas.
