Rabanal del Camino

Hi there
I am heading out to meet my friend to walk with him on his Amino journey. I plan to join him in Leon and walk to Rabanal del Camino. Then I need to get back from Rabanal to Madrid. Does anyone know the best way to do this, ideally by train than bus?

No train anywhere nearby. The bus:

the timetable between Rabanal and Astorga.
Tues dep Rabanal 09.30 ish
Wed and Fridays 07.30 ish
Astorga to Rabanal days as above, leaving Astorga at 13.30.

several trains daily Madrid - Leon, and several daily Leon - Astorga. You can walk with your friend to Rabanal, then get the bus (if you are lucky) or walk back to Astorga. From Astorga you can get daily buses and trains back to Madrid via Leon.
