Hi all. Me and my wife are starting our Camino tomorrow. We have pre-registered for our credentials and my wife has received her QR code but I have not despite sending mine yesterday and also tried again today. If I don’t receive it before going to Porto cathedral today what will they do ? Thanks and Buen Caminho everyone

Ideal pocket guides for during and after your Camino. Each weighs just 40g (1.4 oz).
Registering online is only to speed up the process of receiving a Compostela at the end of your journey. You do not have to be registered anywhere before you start walking. Make sure to have your credencial stamped every day - and at least twice per day for the final 100km. You can sort out the registration business on arrival in Santiago.

The might be some confusion here. I don't think that you need to register with the cathedral in Porto to collect a credencial. It is advantageous to register with the Pilgrim Office in Santiago to collect your compostela, but you can also do this on arrival.

Credencial is your Pilgrim 'Passport' to collect stamps and gain access to Albergues (not all will ask for it) This can be obtained in a range of places. I have not been to Porto but I imagine the cathedral will sell them. And you can get your first stamp at the same time.

Compostela is your certificate at the end, in Santiago collected from the Pilgrim's office, where you can pre register and get a QR code.

Get a credencial in Porto if you don't have one already - as @Robo said, you can probably get one at the Cathedral.
Stamp it along the way, twice a day in the last 100km.
Then pre-register for a QR code that will speed you through the process of getting a Compostella from the pilgrim's Office in Santiago.

Easy peasy. Oh, yeah - there is the part about walking. That's a bit more difficult.
Buen camino to you both, @Rossandjeannie!

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Thanks all. Just thought it weird that my wife got her QR code and I didn’t. Guess we have almost 3 weeks before I have to panic. We will just go to the cathedral and get our credentials and our first stamp today and begin tomorrow. Scary and exciting. Thanks again to everyone in the forums who have helped us prepare for this journey. Buen Caminho.

I got my most recent credential at Capala das Almas, on the corner of Rua de Fernandes Torres and Rua de Santa Catarina. It's about a km from the Se as the crow flies, and a little off the Camino routes, but if you are staying close by, that might be another option.

No need to panic at all. If you never get the code the staff at the Pilgrims Office will help you out.

Have you checked your spam folder for the email with QR code?
